1.General Description

The C2C Adapter is a software utility that converts show and scene files between digital mixing consoles of different manufacturers. Its present strength is the input channel strip — names and colours, input patching, preamplifier settings, filters, equalization and dynamics — read from the source console's native file format and written to the target console's native file format.

Output buses, bus sends, effects racks and surface layout are carried on some platforms and still under development on others. A console is a large machine and we are not finished reading all of it. Sections 4 and 5 state plainly where each console stands and what does not cross yet — we would rather under-promise than have a show arrive missing something you assumed was there.

Conversion is performed entirely offline on the operator's computer. No network connection is required and no show data leaves the machine. Every conversion produces a printed-style report stating, parameter by parameter, what was carried exactly, what was approximated, and what requires manual attention — the operator is never left guessing.

All output files are verified by re-reading the written file before delivery. Output buses may be muted on load as a safety measure, so a converted show cannot surprise a loudspeaker system on first recall.

3.Parameters Carried

Stereo pairs re-seated onto the target's link grid on every supported console. Custom fader banks cross on SQ; softkeys, user rotaries and custom layers do not cross yet on any console.
Outboard & effects

Insert loops re-patched with in/out state on the consoles where inserts are decoded. Rack effects receive suggested equivalents with operator approval; the effects rack itself is not yet read on most consoles.
Console automation
(macros & events)
The behaviour, not just the labels. A mute macro or event is read, its group membership resolved to the actual channels and outputs, and re-authored as the target's own idiom — including a button that shows the live/muted state in colour. This is proven today for mute macros onto DiGiCo, verified loadable on the console. Every other trigger and action is read and reported by name for the operator to rebuild — never guessed, because a macro that fires the wrong thing on a live desk is worse than no macro at all.

Status reflects the current engineering build, verified against console offline editors. Coverage is stated per subsystem rather than as a single percentage because a console is many machines in one, and the honest answer differs by console. Always confirm a converted show on the console before it carries a performance.

5.What Does Not Convert Yet

A mixing console is more than its channel strip. The list below is what the Adapter does not carry today on most platforms. It is published deliberately: an operator needs to know what to rebuild by hand before the doors open, and a converter that quietly drops a subsystem is worse than one that names it.

6.Availability

In development — not yet released. A beta program for working engineers is planned, with priority given to operators moving between the consoles in Section 4. Inquiries welcome.
